Justin Neilsen of Rogue Resources uses a chain saw to clear the trunks of dead pine trees that were removed from the slopes of the Steamboat Ski Area on Monday. The ski area feared the trees, most of which fell victim to the pine beetle epidemic, presented a hazard to skiers and hikers in the area.
