There would be some killer views from the 4th story park! How about a nice water feature drowning out the sound of the traffic. Some trees sucking up the pollution rising up. A swing set, a marry go round, some nice benches capturing the views of the valley.
Best of all room for a couple hundred cars! Instead of dozens of cars circling around looking for a spot adding to traffic bottle necks people could zip right in. They might just hit level 4 on the elevator and enjoy the views of our valley from the parking park!

Sorry Steve. We don't all agree that forced affordable housing is a public benefit. Forcing others to pick up the tab so a chosen few have to pay less is not a public benefit for all.

A compromise with the folks that run TC would be good but everything I've read from them says “Build us more ball fields or we're leaving”. They already threatened to move your group to Reno. Should be fun playing baseball in 100 degree weather!
Don't get me wrong I think it's great you guys enjoy this valley but your tourist dollars aren't any more important than the next tourist. I use to spend my money as a tourist here and didn't feel the need to tell the locals how much I spent here.
Our real problem KS is our infrastructure has been ignored by our local city council and planning dept while permits have been approved blindly all over the valley. Our city, lifestyle, and tourist industry will suffer as a result until there is some real progress with our road system.

1) Build a structure that has underground parking, parking on the main level and put a park on top.
2) While we are the subject of the milner land fill lets close that god awful place down. It's time for the Routt County planners to rethink allowing toxic dumping to be going on next to a major watershed.

Ignorance is bliss. if you can't see it, taste or feel it, it can't harm you.
In routt county it is difficult to pin-point what toxins will do us the most harm.
The massive coal fired plant emmissions.
The redneck dropping a gear to expel a black trail of NOx from his diesel monster truck,
The scorian dust,
The neighbor buring a lump of coal in their fireplace with no scrubber,
The milner landfill,
Arsenic and mercury in the water and fish,
Being exposed to intense solar radiation,
Pick your poison. The EPA under the bush administration sacrifices human health for corporate profit.
The Milner landfill has to top the list as the most harmful to our health in the Yampa Valley. They should shut the place down and move it further away from our beautiful river. Can you imagine living downstream from that place? Scary.

You know it's tough to see this state turning brown but I remember a Colorado where public lakes, rivers, camp grounds, and highways were pretty empty.
Maybe those days will come back and some of the Colorado I remember as a kid will return minus the lodge poles.
