We don't need TC watch commission or spend any more money on them. If they can't support themselves and act respectfully TC can leave Steamboat for good! The sooner the better.

If the City Council thinks they have the money to spend on Triple Crown (which is for profit business) first they better spend the money on US, the residence of this community.

We defeated the Recreation Center because we did not have the financial resources.

What makes the City Council think that we want to have them spend our $$ on a private business that invades us for 10 weeks, expect us - the taxpayers - to fork out for the real estate, infrastructure, construction of the fields, maintenance, paying for the utilities and policing it?

It is time to put this issue to the voters of this community!

The Steamboat Springs City Council voted this week to allow interested city employees take four hours of paid time off to volunteer for the project.”

That is not volunteering that is being paid by the City to work on a community project!

Hello????

What is wrong to live within your means? We all have to.

The City, just like any one of us must set a budget and not spent what they do not have. For years, they have been going on spending rampage as if the “cash will keep on flowing”. Wake up! This is reality, a reality that some of us have lived with all of our lives.

Don't spend what you don't have and save some for rainy days.

It is about time reality hit!…and something's got to give.

Apparently someone from the Arts Council read the blogs.
The website has been updated to read:

Admission is free, but visitors are encouraged to support the arts with a voluntary $1 contribution for a wristband to support the arts.”

I guess the Art Council has not learned from the First Friday Art Walk. The generous artists and the galleries not only open their doors for free, but some offered refreshment. Thank you!

So long Art in the Park!!

On Marabou’s first home under way

Marabou offers cash incentives for its owners to incorporate green building practices into their homes. The developers will cut checks for $10,000 to residents who score enough green building points in the materials and practices employed in the construction of their new homes.”

Owners that build 10,000 s.f. home do not need $10,000 incentive!

Why does the Pilot feel the need to advertise the name of the LLC partnership, builders, architect, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. and provide us with the information on the opulence of those coming into the valley and destroying it with a home that are far beyond anyone's needs?

What an arrogance!

Besides the Ski Corporation the city should also deliver the memo to all property owners of land within the Burgess Creek drainage.

Has anyone taken a ride up Burgess Creek Road or Storm Mountain Drive this summer? If a fire to break out, everyone would be trapped!

The fire hazard is indeed serious and the city should be prepared to use the “hammer” to prevent any problems that might result from the infected or dead trees.

How sad that the new Strings pavilion has such an uncomfortable seating (same stackable chairs as were in the tent). Audience stick to each other while sweating away; the sun reflecting on the glass blinding us while trying to see the stage; the restrooms are (still) in a trailer, outside of the pavilion and the buzz from the drinking fountains disrupt the concert the audience is to enjoy!
Oh, and one more thing: they made us enter through side entrance to the pavilion. What is the purpose of having the grand entrance where the view of the stage is blocked by the sound booth?
